The Beautiful Feeling of Pregnancy
By FELICIA, Go Graham Go!

When I first found out that I was pregnant with Graham I was filled with so many emotions. Of course I was overjoyed with the fact that this little life was growing inside of me, but I was also so nervous about so many things. I worried what kind of parents we would be, what kind of little person this would be, how labor would feel and what I was going to look like!
As the pregnancy progressed, the nerves and the high points turned and changed in many ways. I had friends who were experiencing miscarriages while my pregnancy was still going strong. I ached with pain for my friends, but felt so blessed that the little life I carried continued to grow. I went through the ups and downs with those friends while being pregnant myself, which shed a whole new light on the situation. I rejoiced with other friends who were pregnant at the same time and dreamed of how our kids would grow together. All through the pregnancy journey my emotions would sharply change and I, as a person, would grow.
The one thing that I will never forget is the beauty that I felt. It wasn’t necessarily a complete physical beauty, but a beauty that came from within. The blessing of being able to become a mother was a beautiful event that I could see on the faces of all of my friends as well as myself.
Even when pregnancy number two came and I was left feeling less than beautiful on the outside, that same inner beauty was there. I guess there is just something about the reality that you are carrying another life. That there is more than just YOUR future that will be a reality soon. What a beautiful and blessed feeling that I have the opportunity to hold the best title in the world: Mom.
