Jan. 29 -- Limp Bizkit pulled out of Australia's Big Day Out festival over the weekend, after 30 people were injured during the band's performance Friday in Sydney.

"We'd like to express tremendous sorrow over the injuries suffered by our fans during the Big Day Out concert," the band members said in a statement. "Concern for our fan's safety and well-being is our first priority, and to have people hurt during what is supposed to be an enjoyable and unifying experience affects us profoundly."

Bizkit Unhappy With Security

One of the concertgoers, an 18-year-old woman, suffered a heart attack and was clinically dead when she was pulled from the mosh pit in front of the stage, according to the Sydney Morning Herald. She was revived by paramedics at the side of the stage and taken to a nearby hospital.

The band stopped its performance after people began falling but resumed after 20 minutes, at the urging of police, who feared a riot.

The members of Limp Bizkit said that they were unhappy with security measures and requested additional barricades and personnel. The band says that its requests were not taken seriously.

Big Day Out is an annual Australian festival that tours throughout the country.

"We deeply regret that we have to cancel any of these shows because we hate disappointing our fans," the band said. "We love our fans, but we don't want them to get hurt. We pray for the life of the heart attack victim. We'll be back to Australia to play for our fans under our own terms and with proper safety and security."
