How to listen to the 2026 Oscar nominees for best original song

The 2026 Oscars are approaching, and attention is turning to the nominees for best original song.

Five songs are nominated at this year's Academy Awards: "Dear Me" from "Diane Warren: Relentless," "Golden" from "KPop Demon Hunters," "I Lied to You" from "Sinners," "Sweet Dreams of Joy" from "Viva Verdi!" and "Train Dreams" from "Train Dreams."

All of the nominated songs are available to stream on major platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and YouTube. Several tracks also appear on their films' official soundtracks.

Many streaming services have curated Oscar nominees playlists, allowing listeners to hear all five songs in one place.

The 98th Academy Awards will be held Sunday, March 15, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The ceremony will air live on ABC and stream on Hulu beginning at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT.

Below is a guide to listening to each best original song nominee ahead of Oscars night.

'Dear Me' -- 'Diane Warren: Relentless'

The track comes from the documentary "Diane Warren: Relentless," which follows the career of the prolific songwriter. Warren's nomination continues her long history in this category having earned multiple best original song nods over her career.

'Golden' -- 'KPop Demon Hunters'

"Golden" won best original song at both the Critics Choice Awards and the Golden Globe Awards. The song topped the Billboard Hot 100 for eight nonconsecutive weeks, becoming the first song since Justin Timberlake's "Can't Stop the Feeling!" from "Trolls" in 2017 to reach No. 1 and later earn an Oscar nomination.

The nomination also marks the first nods in the category for South Korean-born songwriters since 2014.

'I Lied to You' -- 'Sinners'

"I Lied to You" comes from "Sinners," which led all films in total Oscar nominations this year. The song was written by Raphael Saadiq and Ludwig Göransson and reflects the emotional tone of the film.

Performed by Miles Caton, the song is also nominated for best song written for visual media at the Grammy Awards.

'Sweet Dreams of Joy' -- 'Viva Verdi!'

"Sweet Dreams of Joy" marks the first Oscar nomination for Nicholas Pike, an English composer who has worked in film and television since the late 1980s. The song appears in "Viva Verdi!" -- a documentary about elderly opera singers and musicians living at Milan's Casa Verdi retirement home.

'Train Dreams' -- 'Train Dreams'

"Train Dreams" rounds out the best original song nominations. Written by Nick Cave and Bryce Dessner, the song appears in the film "Train Dreams." This is the first Oscar nomination for both songwriters.
