Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce wedding speculation grows as friend says it is 'close'
The buzz around Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding continues to grow amid speculation about who may be on the invite list and when and where the celebration may take place.
The "Shake It Off" singer and Kansas City Chiefs tight end announced their engagement in August last year, after first sparking speculation about their relationship in the fall of 2023.
Reports that Swift and Kelce may tie the knot around the Fourth of July holiday have sparked more recent speculation about their wedding, but the couple has not confirmed any details publicly.

ABC News has reached out to Kelce and Swift's representatives for comment.
Read on below to find out more about the speculation surrounding the A-list couple's wedding plans.
Is a date set for the wedding?
A date for Swift and Kelce's wedding has not been publicly confirmed by the couple.
Kelce's friend and fellow NFL star George Kittle said Tuesday that the wedding is "close" while attending the Tight End University Tight Ends & Friends Concert in Nashville.
"She's just such an awesome person to give us her time this close to their wedding," Kittle told People of Swift, who gave a surprise performance at the concert.
Kittle, who co-founded Tight End University with Kelce, added of both Swift and Kelce's attendance at the event, "We're just so thankful that they're here."
Earlier this month, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani also referenced Swift and Kelce's wedding during a press conference on June 15.
While discussing safety in the city during the World Cup tournament, Mamdani told reporters, "We know it coincides with the Knicks finals run, we know it coincides with July Fourth, America 250, Taylor Swift's wedding all happening at the same time, and we are so excited to welcome the world here."
When asked by a reporter about whether he was invited to the pop star's wedding, Mamdani said, "No. I wish them a lovely wedding. I'll listen to 'Only the Young' at home on my own."
What is the location of the wedding?
Neither Swift nor Kelce has commented on where their wedding may take place.
Kelce was born and raised in Ohio, while Swift was born in Pennsylvania and has lived in multiple cities across the country, including New York City.
Two New York City officials told ABC News on Wednesday that an event company had filed a permit requesting the closure of West 31st Street near Madison Square Garden from July 2-4, marking the first concrete sign of planning for a possible wedding on July 3.
The permit application, by Winick Productions, also requests permission for an exterior canopy that could be used to conceal comings and goings, the officials said, adding that the permit listed the size of the event between 500 and 999 people.
Winick Productions declined to comment to ABC News.
The existence of the permit was first reported by The New York Times.
Who is invited?

In addition to Kittle, another celebrity who has said they are attending the wedding is actress, singer, and model Suki Waterhouse. In an interview with Variety in May, while speaking about her own wedding plans with fiancé Robert Pattinson, Waterhouse said, "I'm gonna go to Taylor's wedding, and maybe I'll get some inspiration. It will be amazing."
While the rest of the guest list is under wraps, it's expected that both Swift and Kelce's families, with whom they have remained close throughout their respective careers, will be in attendance.
Fans of the pair have also speculated that fellow celebrities Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Zoë Kravitz, Cara Delevingne, the Haim sisters, Ed Sheeran and his wife Cherry Seaborn, and Patrick and Brittany Mahomes could be on the guest list.
Did the couple have separate bachelor and bachelorette parties?
Reports about activity happening around Ocean House in Rhode Island the weekend of June 19 led many to believe that wedding festivities for Swift and Kelce were underway, especially when many saw a white tent on the lawn of the property.
When a wedding planner confirmed the famous couple's wedding was not taking place that weekend, reports about Swift and Kelce's whereabouts suggested the duo could have been attending their respective bachelorette and bachelor parties instead.
TMZ reported that Swift's longtime best friend Abigail Anderson was spotted around Swift's Rhode Island mansion that weekend. Kelce, meanwhile, was spotted in San Diego and Los Angeles with friends.
ABC News' Aaron Katersky and Mark Crudele contributed to this report.
