What to know about the Aldi Blind Boxes and how to score free groceries
Blind boxes, sealed packages with unknown contents -- typically toys or other prizes -- have been a huge hit with kids and adults alike, and now Aldi is tapping into the trend for its shoppers, offering a version made up of grocery essentials.
The new Aldi promotion starts Monday, June 22, and runs through Thursday, June 25, giving shoppers a chance to score free groceries for a limited time.
The promo comes at a time when consumers are looking for ways to stretch their food budget amid rising costs across the board.

According to the discount grocer, the first-ever Aldi Blind Boxes will be a series of themed mystery packages filled with a mix of staple items and on-trend food picks.
The themed, curated boxes will each be available online for free. Each themed box drops daily at 12 p.m. ET.
The box themes include:
The Snack Blind Box: This box includes a collection of cheeses, dips, crunchy snacks, and sweets, all designed for easy, casual meals or snacking occasions, per Aldi.
The Fiber Blind Box: This box includes lineup of produce and better-for-you grocery items aimed at helping consumers increase their fiber intake, according to the retailer's description.
The Protein Blind Box: This box features high-protein foods and pantry staples geared toward shoppers who are focused on nutrition and fitness goals, according to Aldi.
The Mystery Blind Box: This blind box includes a mix of assorted Aldi fan-favorite items, offering shoppers a more traditional surprise experience, according to the retailer.
How shoppers can get an Aldi Blind Box

Customers hoping to snag a blind box should visit the Aldi Blind Box website each day from June 22 through June 25 at 12 p.m. ET.
Shoppers will need to act quickly to claim a box, as there are a limited number released each day, according to Aldi.
Starting at 12 p.m. daily on the designated promo days, shoppers can select the daily featured blind box theme, enter all shipping information at checkout, and complete their order to receive a free box, which will be delivered to their home.
The box will be delivered directly to the recipient at no cost to them, which makes the promotion an attractive option for shoppers in search of new products to test without adding to their grocery bill.
Aldi encouraged customers to keep an eye on its social media channels to get a preview of each day's theme ahead of the release.
