When can you see the full Hunter's Moon?
The Hunter's Moon reached peak illumination on Monday, Oct. 26, at 12:12 a.m. ET, according to the U.S. Naval Observatory.
The moon will appear full for several nights around its peak, giving skywatchers a chance to see it illuminate the night sky.
Why is it called the Hunter's Moon?
The Old Farmer's Almanac, which began publishing full moon names in the 1930s, explains that the October full moon became known as the "Hunter's Moon" because it signaled the start of hunting season and served as a reminder for hunters to prepare for the colder months ahead.
According to the Almanac, after fields were cleared during the harvest season, animals would venture out to scavenge remaining crops, making it easier for hunters to spot game such as deer and foxes.
The October full moon has also been called the sanguine moon or blood moon, a nod to the hunting season or the deep red hues of autumn leaves, the publication noted.
What zodiac sign is the Hunter's Moon in October?
The zodiac sign of each full moon is determined by its position in the night sky relative to the astrological signs. Each year, the moon shifts, bringing different characteristics to each full moon, according to Thomas.
This year's Hunter's Moon will occur in Taurus, an earth sign associated with stability, finances, relationships and personal values.
Thomas said Taurus is ruled by Venus, the planet associated with love and beauty, which could encourage people to focus on what brings them happiness, comfort and security.
"Taurus also inherently brings attention to what we value, as well as our inherent values, and the worth we place on everything in which we have or desire," Thomas said. "During these times, we can feel more sensual, crave beauty and luxury, and may be a bit more indulgent."

Because Taurus is an earth sign, Thomas recommends incorporating natural elements such as plants, gemstones and soil into full moon rituals.
For those looking to attract financial abundance, he suggests creating a space dedicated to financial goals or using green candles while focusing on intentions.
"Taurus is ruled by Venus, so if you’d like to attract romance or increase love, use a pink candle," Thomas suggested. "Write your desires either on the candle or on a piece of paper and then burn the candle atop it -- but make sure that you never leave a candle burning by itself unattended."

Thomas said the full moon could encourage you to reflect on the past, address lingering fears and prioritize your mental and physical well-being.

Thomas said the full moon could bring an important milestone involving your friendships, social circle or long-term aspirations.

Thomas said the full moon could bring professional recognition, a promotion or a new job opportunity.
"An award, promotion, new job offer or publicity may manifest out of thin air!" he said.
Virgo (Aug. 23 - Sept. 22)

Thomas said the full moon may inspire you to step outside your comfort zone, adding, "You may now reach a victory around a long-distance project or travel situation -- perhaps even considering immigration. Libra (Sept. 23 - Oct. 22)

Thomas said the full moon could bring a turning point in your relationships.
"If you’re in a healthy rapport, you may now decide to crank up the intimacy," he continued. "However, if you’re on a rocky road -- or going through a divorce -- the path to a settlement may push you in opposite directions."
Scorpio (Oct. 23 - Nov. 21)

Thomas said the full moon may encourage couples to take their relationship to the next level, whether by moving in together, getting engaged or getting married.
"If single, be on the lookout for a soulmate connection who has long-term potential," he added.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22 - Dec. 21)

Thomas said the full moon may bring changes to your work schedule, responsibilities or employment, including the completion of an important project.
"You may instead hit a prized professional milestone if you’ve been working hard on something," he explained. "However, this full moon could bring a change around your physical health, fitness, diet and exercise, instead."
Capricorn (Dec. 22 - Jan. 19)

Thomas said the full moon could bring an important development involving love, hobbies, creative projects or family plans.
"If single, you could cross paths with a soulmate connection -- so don't miss this opportunity to put yourself out there and date up a storm," he said. "If committed, you can use this energy to reignite your spark together."
Aquarius (Jan. 20 - Feb. 18)

Thomas said the full moon could bring a significant change to your living situation, whether through moving, renovating or redecorating.
"If involved in real estate or seeking to -- news may pop up that you’ve got to tackle," he added.
Pisces (Feb. 19 - March 20)

Thomas said the full moon could bring an important milestone involving communication, writing, speaking or education.
"Some of you may now releasing a significant writing, speaking or advertising initiative before the world," he continued. "You may now have many people engaging with your ideas. Educational matters are also favored at this time."
