Affection BLVD: The celeb-approved slow-fashion brand unveils its whimsical summer collection

"Affection BLVD is a non-seasonal, slow-fashion label that creates timeless, high-quality pieces -- ready-to-wear, swimwear, accessories and handbags -- in small batches," brand founder Stella Huang explained, adding, "Everything is made responsibly with love and affection, prioritizing natural yarns, deadstock fabrics, and family-owned factories to ensure quality, durability, and minimal waste."
Huang was born in the U.S. but lived in China from ages 3 to 10, where she was immersed in "long family dinners filled with storytelling, celebrating every festival with its unique rituals, and traveling to different cities to learn their histories, traditions, and centuries-old crafts." She said she sees her brand as a manifestation of "East meets West": Affection BLVD is based in Hong Kong, but there's a beautiful balance of Chinese and American sensibility present in the designs.
"Growing up in China," Huang explained, "the first thing that comes to mind about the culture is abundance and maximalism -- rich textures, layered colors and details, vibrant energy, and a celebration of beauty in excess ... [but] at the same time, having spent most of my life in the U.S., I'm drawn to clean, relaxed, functional Western silhouettes that prioritize comfort, freedom of movement, and effortless wearability."
Affection BLVD's summer drop includes perfect examples of this sartorial dichotomy, from lace detailing on flowy button-ups to feminine cutouts on brightly colored tank tops perfect for wearing alone in summer or layered in cooler months.
