"Let's get dressed."
That's how content creator Anastasia Souris begins many of her TikTok and Instagram videos, speaking to a combined audience of more than 400,000 followers. Souris then proceeds to create outfits using both classic and on-trend pieces from her wardrobe.
In January, Souris announced she was pregnant. Since then, she has continued to share styling tips and outfit inspiration as she adapts to a new era.
We caught up with Souris to discover her five pregnancy fashion essentials and to learn how she maintains her personal style.
"What surprised me the most was learning how to navigate the constant 'new normal,' if you can call it that," Souris told "Good Morning America." "As someone with a deep understanding of their personal style, I have never faced a challenge like dressing what feels like an entirely different body."
She continued, "I was surprised at how difficult that would be, but once I started to find pieces that worked with my body and still felt true to my style, I began to get my spark back!"
What to look for
Souris says she looks for elastic waistbands, maternity jeans that sit below the belly, and matching sets when shopping. Matching sets are "the foolproof way to be comfortable" while feeling put together, she said, and are versatile in that they can be worn as separates.
Souris added that accessories are key.
"They are the one thing that will always fit in this nine-month journey, so I have relied on them heavily in bringing my personal style into my looks," she said, naming brands like Heaven Mayhem, Monica Vinader and Juju Vera.
What to avoid
Souris said she asks herself a couple of questions in order to decide if she will make a purchase. First: Can she (and will she) wear the item after pregnancy? If yes, it's a buy.
"If I can't wear it after pregnancy because of its size or because it's a maternity item, the next question is, 'How many times will I wear this while pregnant?'"
If the cost-per-wear is low, Souris said she will splurge, like on vintage maternity Levi's.
"My best advice is to be intentional and play with what you have in your closet already, then fill in the gaps," she said.

Maternity denim
"As a denim enthusiast and self-proclaimed denim expert, I felt lost in my maternity style without my jeans," Souris recalled. "It wasn't until I purchased a few pairs of maternity jeans that I felt like I regained my personal style and a sense of normalcy in my style. By far, my favorite purchase!"
Elastic waistband trouser-style pants
"I love styling an elastic waistband trouser style pant like The Row's Gala pant, and lucky for us, there are now plenty of more affordable versions of this on the market," Souris said, noting a couple of options you can shop below.
"I have loved this style of pants during pregnancy because the elastic waistband provides so much comfort," she added. "You can choose to wear above or below the bump, and you still feel like you are wearing a pair of trousers for a more pulled-together look."
Button-down tops
"I have found that when in doubt, I can always style a button-down top with almost any outfit. In the early days of pregnancy, these were great for hiding any bloat or beginnings of a bump while we were still keeping it a secret," Souris said.
She continued, "As pregnancy progressed, I found that the button-down would be my secret weapon in my wardrobe. There are endless ways to style it, but I personally have enjoyed buttoning a few at the top to create a peek-a-boo moment with the belly on the bottom. I also love to use it as a layering piece if I have on a tight tank top or dress -- I feel more comfortable having something I can throw on and off!"

"These have been a lifesaver and will continue to be for those joining me in having a summer baby," Souris said. "There is something about a breezy, lightweight, no-fuss dress that will always be a top choice when getting dressed."
Pull-on or elastic-waist midi skirts
"These are so great to have as an alternative to wearing pants or a dress all the time," Souris said. "I pair mine with a simple tank and sandal, or a button-down top -- an endless amount of ways to style this closet staple."
