Army confirms identity of service member killed in Iranian attack in Jordan
The Pentagon said in a statement that it has officially confirmed the identity of the remains of Staff Sgt. Angel Rampersad who was believed to have been killed in action during Friday's Iranian strike on a U.S. base in Jordan last week.
The confirmation came from the Armed Forces Medical Examiner System, according to a Pentagon statement.

Rampersad, 28, of Ozone Park, New York, was posthumously promoted to the rank of staff sergeant.
The other three service members killed in last week’s attacks have also received posthumous promotions.
