Iran live updates: Trump speaks to MBS, says everything will 'work out fine'

The Saudi Civil Defense spokesperson said Saturday that a projectile fired by the Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen fell in the Al-Tawwal governorate in the Jazan region, which borders Houthi-controlled Yemen from the north along the Red Sea coast.

The attack injured two people and damaged a mosque, several buildings and vehicles, the spokesperson said in a statement posted to the Civil Defense's X account.

Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi said he had ordered an investigation into the operations command in Maysan province, on the border with Iran, and dismissed the province's commander after authorities confirmed that the attacks targeting a Saudi Arabian pipeline were launched from a site within the province.

President Donald Trump confirmed that he had a phone call with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman during a brief bilateral greeting with the Taoiseach of Ireland, Micheál Martin, in Dublin on Saturday.

Asked about the call and what the U.S. is going to do, Trump avoided weighing in on what he spoke to MBS about or what next steps are.

"Well I have had a call with MBS. He's a good friend of mine and it's going to, I can just say, it's going to work out fine and dandy. It's going to be very good," Trump said.

President Donald Trump said on Saturday that Iran is “probably” behind the attack on the critical oil pipeline in Saudi Arabia. During his greeting with Irish leaders in Dublin, Trump also said that the Houthis asked the U.S. not to target them.

“We've had discussions. The Houthis called us and they don't want to fight with us,” Trump said.

"They would much prefer not having us involved. And they're letting most ships go through. There's just one country that they're not too happy with and we'll get that straightened out," Trump said.
