Iran live updates: Trump admin prepares range of options to target Iran, including 'mother of all bombs,' sources say

Officials have prepared a range of options for the president to consider.

President Donald Trump announced "major combat operations" against Iran on Feb. 28, with massive joint U.S.-Israeli strikes targeting military, government and infrastructure sites.

Despite a memorandum of understanding signed by both countries in June aimed at ending the war, talks broke down and the U.S. and Iran renewed strikes, with the strategic Strait of Hormuz as the primary flashpoint.

Across the region, fighting in Yemen between the Iranian-backed Houthis and Saudi-backed Yemeni forces has intensified in recent weeks and the militia group has also launched strikes on Saudi Arabia.

5 killed and 16 injured in attack on Presidential Palace in Aden, Yemen health authority says

Five people were killed, and 16 were injured in the Houthi attack that targeted the al-Maashiq Presidential Palace in Yemen’s Aden, according to the Yemeni health minister.

The Houthis responded saying Saudi Arabian warplanes launched 65 airstrikes and missile attacks in the last 24 hours, targeting civilian sites in the capital, Sana’a, and the governorates of Lahj, Hudaydah, Taiz, Amran, Saada and Marib.

"The attacks were carried out by F-15 and Typhoon aircraft that took off from the Khamis Mushait and Taif air bases, while the missile attacks originated from Najran. This brings the total number of Saudi aggression airstrikes and missile attacks against our country since the escalation began to 2,388," the Houthis said in a statement.

Yemeni presidential palace struck by ballistic missiles

At least two people were killed and others were injured after ballistic missiles struck the Yemeni presidential palace in Aden, the seat of Yemen's internationally recognized government, according to the minister of information and a government spokesperson.

Prime Minister Shaya al-Zindani and government ministers were unharmed after four ballistic missiles hit the palace, according to the minister and spokesperson.

The Houthis responded saying any Saudi military presence is a legitimate target.

"The bombing of the Saudi enemy's military operations headquarters in Aden comes within the context of the declared equation of striking Saudi mobilizations wherever they are, and considering any Saudi enemy military presence a legitimate target for our forces wherever they are," Yahya Saree, a spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, said Thursday.
