Pakistan announces US-Iran talks 'in coming days'

Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar made the announcement on Sunday.

President Donald Trump announced "major combat operations" against Iran on Feb. 28, with massive joint U.S.-Israeli strikes attack targeting military and government sites, officials said.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was among those killed in Tehran on the first day of strikes, with his son Mojtaba Khamenei later chosen to succeed him. Iran has responded with missile and drone attacks targeting Israel, regional U.S. bases and multiple Gulf nations. Iran is also attempting to block some shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.

Israel is also intensifying its long-running strike campaign against the Iran-backed Hezbollah militia in Lebanon and expanding its ground operations in the south of the country.

1 dead, several others Injured in Israel after missile attack

One man was killed and 11 others were injured after a missile attack in Nahariya, Northern Israel, a spokesperson for Israel's national EMS organization said Thursday.

A man in his 30s died from shrapnel injuries, according to MDA. Four of the 10 people transported to Galilee Medical Center also suffered shrapnel injuries the statement said.

Trump says Iran has a chance to 'chart a new path forward'

President Donald Trump said Iran now has "the chance … to chart a new path forward" but that the U.S. will continue "blowing them away" in the meantime.

"They can't do anything about it. If they could, you'd be hearing about it," Trump said at a Cabinet meeting Thursday.

President Donald Trump said at a Cabinet meeting on Thursday that Iran is "begging" for a deal, after reports that Iran rejected a 15-point peace proposal from the Trump administration.

Trump claimed Iran is saying it has been "decisively defeated." He also denied reports that he is the one seeking a deal with Iran.

Iran responds to US peace proposal

Iran responded to the Trump administration's 15 point plan through intermediaries overnight Thursday, according to the semi-official Tasnim news agency, which quoted an informed source.

According to Tasnim, Iran’s reply outlines several conditions, including an end to attacks and assassinations, guarantees the conflict will not be repeated, and compensation for war-related damages. It added that Tehran is seeking a comprehensive end to hostilities across all fronts, including groups aligned with Iran in the region.
