Protests supporting Gaza take place in Europe

President Donald Trump said he is giving Hamas until 6 p.m. ET on Sunday to sign on to the Gaza peace plan he unveiled earlier this week, he wrote on social media.

"Every Country has signed on! If this LAST CHANCE agreement is not reached, all HELL, like no one has ever seen before, will break out against Hamas,” Trump posted on his social media platform.

On Tuesday, Trump told ABC News he was giving Hamas “three or four days” to respond to the proposal.

Trump also reiterated his warning to the people of Gaza, urging them to leave an unspecified area “for safer parts of Gaza” as he claimed he has the power to trap and kill Hamas soldiers should they refuse to sign onto the agreement to end the war.

“As for the rest, we know where and who you are, and you will be hunted down, and killed. I am asking that all innocent Palestinians immediately leave this area of potentially great future death for safer parts of Gaza. Everyone will be well cared for by those that are waiting to help,” Trump added.

The health system in Gaza is overwhelmed, with 42,000 Palestinians suffering life-changing injuries, according to the World Health Organization.

That includes more than 10,000 children, as the "health system collapses under relentless strain," the WHO warned Thursday.

“These life changing injuries account for one quarter of all reported injuries, of a total of over 167,300 people injured since October 2023,” said Rik Peeperkorn, the WHO representative in the West Bank and Gaza.

More than 5,000 people have faced amputation and other severe injuries to arms, legs and the spinal cord, while dozens of rehabilitation workers have been killed and facilities close to collapse, the WHO said.

“Currently less than 14 of Gaza’s 36 hospitals remain partially functional, while less than one third of pre-conflict rehabilitation services are operating, with several facing imminent closure,” Peeperkorn said.

More than 6,700 people fled northern Gaza to the south within a 10-hour span on Wednesday alone, adding to over 417,000 displacements since mid-August, according to UN Deputy Spokesperson Farhan Haq.

A State Department official said the Gaza flotilla is a "deliberate and unnecessary provocation."

"We take our commitment to assist U.S. citizens seriously and are monitoring the situation," the official said about the group of Americans who were on the flotilla and are now in the process of being deported from Israel.

"We are currently focused on realizing President Trump’s plan to end the war, which has been universally welcomed as a historic opportunity for a lasting peace," the official said.

Twenty-four Americans were among the passengers on the flotilla carrying aid to Gaza, according to letters sent from a group of Congressional Democrats to Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

The House Democrats, led by Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, demanded that Rubio protect the civilians on board and warned that the passengers were at "serious" risk.

“Hundreds of brave civilian volunteers from over 40 countries—including the United States—have set sail to Gaza to deliver essential aid, establish a humanitarian corridor, and save lives,” lawmakers wrote. “Already, flotilla ships have been targeted and attacked by drones on at least three occasions."

This letter follows a letter a group of progressive Senate Democrats also sent earlier this week demanding that Rubio put pressure on Israel to stop it from attacking the flotilla.
