Kavanaugh denies Missouri Republicans' appeal to preserve GOP-friendly congressional district map

Justice Brett Kavanaugh, who oversees Missouri federal courts, denied the emergency appeal by Republicans seeking to preserve a GOP-friendly redrawn congressional district map for the November election. 

Kavanaugh did not explain his decision, which is seen as a win for Democrats. He did not refer the matter to other members of the court for consideration.
