Trump calls for famed Alcatraz prison to be reopened, expanded

President Donald Trump on Sunday that he doesn't know if he is supposed to uphold the Constitution and relies on his lawyers to follow the law.

"I don't know. I have to respond by saying, again, I have brilliant lawyers that work for me, and they are going to obviously follow what the Supreme Court said," Trump told NBC in an interview that aired Sunday on "Meet the Press."

Trump also said that he wouldn't seek a third term as president, though he has teased the possibility several times, and that he wouldn't fire Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell before his term ends in 2026.

Trump says he had 'positive talk' with Hegseth amid Signal fallout

President Donald Trump, in an interview with The Atlantic, said he's had a "positive talk" with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth following the fallout from Hegseth's use of the Signal app and installing a makeup room in the Pentagon.

"I think he's gonna get it together," Trump said of Hegseth. "I had a talk with him, a positive talk, but I had a talk with him."

White House national security adviser Mike Waltz, who included The Atlantic editor Jeffrey Goldberg in one Signal chat, is doing "fine" despite being "beat up," Trump said. Trump's message to staff after the controversy was: "Maybe don't use Signal, okay?"

Border czar to brief on 'security the border' at White House

Border Czar Tom Homan is scheduled on Monday to give a press briefing on "securing the border," according to the White House.

Homan will be joined by White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, officials said.
