Trump admin updates: US military is preparing for possible activation of National Guard in DC

Vice President JD Vance confirmed that he discussed redistricting with government officials during his trip to Indiana during an interview with Maria Bartiromo on FOX News Channel’s "Sunday Morning Futures."

"We spoke with the governor, with the speaker of the House there in Indiana, and the Senate president, and the message I delivered is pretty straightforward," Vance said. "We want a unified Republican team. We want to fight together, win together, make big things happen for the American people, and obviously, the people of the state of Indiana together."

Vance indicated that because blue states such as California, Illinois and New York have "aggressively gerrymandered," it has become hard for states such as Indiana to have their voices heard in federal elections. He then claimed that California has more seats due to undocumented immigrants.

"They get rewarded for welcoming illegal aliens into their state, giving them federal benefits, actually asking the taxpayers of states like Ohio to subsidize them. And then those same taxpayers in Ohio and Indiana and elsewhere, they have fewer congressional representatives because of what California has allowed to happen. That's ridiculously unfair," he said.

In a social media post on Friday, President Trump said that his global tariffs are "having a huge positive impact on the Stock Market" and is calling on an appeals court weighing the legality of the tariffs not to rule against the duties.

"If a Radical Left Court ruled against us at this late date, in an attempt to bring down or disturb the largest amount of money, wealth creation and influence the U.S.A. has ever seen, it would be impossible to ever recover, or pay back, these massive sums of money and honor. It would be 1929 all over again, a GREAT DEPRESSION!," Trump wrote in a post on his conservative social media platform, Truth Social.

The post comes as a federal appeals court considers whether to uphold the New York-based Court of International Trade's ruling that Trump does not have the authority to unilaterally impose tariffs on most of America's trading partners.

Trump will have the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan to the White House on Friday to sign a historic peace treaty that will end decades of conflict between the nations and create a U.S.-backed corridor called the "Trump Route" connecting the regions.

Armenia and Azerbaijan have been locked in conflict for decades, largely over the contested Nagorno-Karabakh region.

Senior administration officials told ABC News the countries will also sign a joint declaration creating the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP), which an official said will unlock the potential for the flow of "trade, transit and energy" in the region.

The route will link Azerbaijan to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic across Armenian land.

The nations will also sign a letter requesting the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) dissolve the Minsk Group -- an effort by Russia, the U.S. and France to find a solution to the conflict over the Nagorno-Karabakh region.

This deal has implications that are farther reaching than just Azerbaijan and Armenia -- it represents a greater American participation in a former Soviet region, sending a message to Russia and Iran. The growth of American commercial and diplomatic presence will diminish Russia's influence in the South Caucasus region.

When the Supreme Court earlier this year limited the scope of nationwide injunctions by district judges in the case involving President Donald Trump's executive order to end birthright citizenship, an avenue left open was for courts to seek nationwide class action involving children born to non-citizens.

Now in a ruling issued Thursday, the Maryland federal judge in that original case has certified a class and enjoined the executive order from taking effect while the question of a constitutional right to birthright citizenship continues to play out in court.

U.S. District Court Judge Deborah Boardman is now the fourth judge to continue to block Trump's executive order seeking to end birthright citizenship.
