Trump threatens to fire Federal Reserve Board Governor Cook if she doesn't resign
President Donald Trump vowed Friday to fire Federal Reserve Board Governor Lisa Cook if she doesn't resign.
The comments come after Trump's Federal Housing Finance Agency head Bill Pulte accused Cook of committing mortgage fraud. Pulte referred Cook, the first Black woman to serve on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, for criminal prosecution, but she has not been charged.
"What she did was… bad so I'll fire her if she doesn't resign," Trump said, without giving more details about the allegations against Cook.

Cook pushed back on the calls for her to step down in a statement released Wednesday.
"I have no intention of being bullied to step down from my position because of some questions raised in a tweet. I do intend to take any questions about my financial history seriously as a member of the Federal Reserve and so I am gathering the accurate information to answer any legitimate questions and provide the facts," she said.
