Trump invited European leaders to join the meeting with the Ukrainian president.
Following what was described as a “lengthy” phone call with President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he will travel to Washington on Monday to meet with President Donald Trump. A White House official said Trump has invited European leaders to join the meeting on Monday afternoon.
Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin met in Alaska on Friday and while Putin mentioned an "agreement" in the post-meeting news conference and Trump said "great progress" was made, there was no mention of a ceasefire.
The leaders ignored shouted questions from reporters -- including one directed at President Putin, "How can the U.S. trust your word?" -- before they got to the awaiting motorcade.
Putin could be seen laughing in Trump's presidential limousine as it drove off.
President Trump and Russia's Vladimir Putin stepped off their respective planes shortly after 3 p.m. ET on Friday.
The two walked down lengthy red carpets before greeting each other.
Trump clapped his hands as Putin walked toward him. They then shook hands and smiled.
Ahead of Friday's high-stakes meeting, President Donald Trump said that he wants to see a ceasefire negotiated or "I'm not going to be happy."
"But I want to see a ceasefire rapidly," Trump said. "I don't know if it's going to be today, but I'm not going to be happy if it's not today," Trump said on Air Force One.
"Everyone said it can't be today, but I'm just saying, I want the killing to stop. I'm in this to stop the killing," Trump continued.

Accompanying Russian President Putin in the now three-on-three meeting with President Trump are Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the president's adviser, Yuri Ushakov, a Kremlin spokesperson told Russian state media.
