Trump 2nd term updates: Trump attends the Super Bowl

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said in a social media post that, after a conversation with President Donald Trump, tariffs "are paused for a month from now" after several agreements.

Sheinbaum wrote those agreements include Mexico reinforcing the border with 10,000 National Guard troops to prevent drug trafficking and the U.S. committing to work on preventing "high-powered weapons" from crossing into Mexico.

"Our teams will start working today on two fronts: security and trade," she wrote on X.

The Senate Intelligence Committee is set to vote on former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard’s nomination for director of national intelligence on Tuesday, sources told ABC News.

Gabbard faced skeptical lawmakers last week during her confirmation hearing, when she was grilled on her controversial rhetoric on Russian aggression, her meeting with former Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad and her support for Edward Snowden.

Gabbard defended her decision not to label Snowden a traitor during her confirmation hearing in an op-ed published over the weekend. In it, she also included a "four-point plan to prevent future Snowden-like leaks."

Secretary of State Marco Rubio observed a deportation flight of Colombian nationals from Panama as the Trump administration's crackdown on illegal immigration continues.

Rubio said the goal of programs, like the agreement with Panama, was to discourage migrants from making the journey to the U.S., which is the ultimate destination for the majority of them. Rubio also said it was the U.S. taxpayers who made the flight possible and that he would look to expand cooperation on this front.

Rubio's visit to Panama is part of an official trip to the region, which also includes El Salvador, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic. Looming large over his appearance in Panama are President Donald Trump's threats to retake the Panama Canal.

In a social post, President Donald Trump said he just "spoke to" Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and plans to speak with him again at 3 p.m.

Trump also seemed to criticize Canada's position on U.S. businesses and added that the matter of tariffs are part of "a DRUG WAR, and hundreds of thousands of people have died in the U.S. from drugs pouring through the Borders of Mexico and Canada."

"Canada doesn't even allow U.S. Banks to open or do business there. What's that all about?" Trump wrote on his conservative social media platform. "Many such things, but it's also a DRUG WAR, and hundreds of thousands of people have died in the U.S. from drugs pouring through the Borders of Mexico and Canada. Just spoke to Justin Trudeau. Will be speaking to him again at 3:00 P.M."
