Tracing Election Day's Tuesday roots to America's farmers

Their schedule was the one used to dictate the country's voting day.

— -- While most states have early voting in place, the country's official Election Day is always the first Tuesday in November.

The decision to designate that Tuesday was first based on farmers market and crop schedules.

The time frame, however, wasn't always that strict.
