Arkansas State scores final 10 points, holds off Kennesaw State for 17-14 win

JONESBORO, Ark. -- Trey Owens threw a touchdown pass and ran for another for Arkansas State, and the Red Wolves scored the last 10 points to beat Kennesaw State 17-14 on Saturday night.

Owens' 2-yard touchdown run capped a 76-yard drive that tied it 14-all late in the third quarter. Clune Van Andel kicked a 33-yard field goal to end the scoring with 8:19 left in the game.

Rickie Collins led Kennesaw State on a 10-play, 46-yard drive but Daniel Kinney missed a 32-yard field goal with about three minutes left. Solomon Baggett's 12-yard run on third-and-6 with 1:52 remaining helped seal the win for Arkansas State (2-2). Baggett finished with 63 yards rushing on 13 carries.

Owens threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Hunter Summers in the second quarter, and he finished 24-of-31 passing for 244 yards for the Red Wolves.

Boogie Woods II scored on an 8-yard run for Kennesaw State (1-3) just before halftime to tie it 7-all. Woods' 6-yard touchdown run gave the Owls a 14-7 lead with 4:24 left in the third. Woods had 101 yards rushing on 19 carries.

Rickie Collins completed 17 of 24 passes for 129 yards and added 52 yards on the ground for the Owls.
