Talking Your Tech: Favorites at CES

— -- The big question we get asked when we attend the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas is "what's the coolest thing you've seen?"

This year, we had some fun by flipping the question to folks who attend the show — people who might stock shelves of their own stores with new gadgets and gizmos, or who might have been just wandering the CES floor filled with gadget-yearning.

The giant trade show was highlighted by the introduction of mega TVs by Samsung and LG — huge, ultra-thin OLED TVs. OLEDs (for "Organic Light Emitting Diode") are the successors to plasma and LCD flat-panel TVs in that they have a brighter, even more colorful picture in an ultra-thin body.

Here's what folks had to say:

TVs!

— "I like the thin OLED screens, those are really great. I like the picture quality and the size they're getting out of them," says Scott Wills of Mountain View, Calif. But would he buy them? "No, they're too pricey, but I will when they come down."

— "I want the 100-inch TV from Panasonic. I don't have room for it, but I want one," says Kris Acker, Seattle.

— "One of those new really nice 3-D TVs from LG. Really cool. I love it because it's thin," says Katie Crawford of Denver.

Connected appliances

— "I like the refrigerator and all the gizmos that go with it. It… keeps track of what's in there…temperature changes. The stove will allow you to turn it on from your computer at work," says Linda Sangirardi of Phoenix.

Small computers

— "Some of those new ultrabooks look really good," says C. Todd Sangirardi, Linda's husband.

Camera gear

— "Those (new and very expensive) Cinema lenses from Canon. The lenses are the most clear I've ever seen," says Vensley Greene from New York.

Tablets

— "The Samsung Galaxy Note tablet actually blew me away. They were actually drawing on the tablet, making characters and that to me was amazing," says Valerie Thornton, Atlanta.

Headphones

"Some of those new wireless headphones that (singer) 50 Cent is selling. The bomb. The bass is really good," says Toni Sidman, New York.
