3 shot at workplace in Virginia, gunman at large: Police
The three victims are in critical condition, police said.
Three people are in critical condition after they were shot in an act of "workplace violence" in Virginia, and the suspect -- believed to be a coworker -- is at large, police said.
The shooting unfolded Wednesday morning at United Rentals in Manassas, a city about 30 miles outside of Washington, D.C., according to Manassas police.
The three victims are all employees, Manassas Police Chief Douglas Keen told reporters.
The suspect, identified by police as Marvin Grant, allegedly fled the scene and may be driving a gray Toyota Camry or Toyota Corolla with temporary North Carolina registration tags, according to the police department.
Authorities believe Grant "has fled out of the northern Virginia area," the chief said.
A shelter-in-place order for the community has since been lifted, but a local elementary school will be on "secure the building status" for the rest of the day, police said.
