A 37-year-old man was shot and killed Saturday morning in Minneapolis -- the second shooting of a U.S. citizen this month by federal agents in the city.

The shooting of Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse, ratcheted up tensions, as protesters clashed in the streets with law enforcement in the aftermath of the shooting.

The incident followed the fatal shooting of Renee Good, a 37-year-old mother, on Jan. 7.

DHS spokeswoman pushes back against Minnesota judge

DHS assistant secretary Tricia McLaughlin pushed back against Minnesota's Chief Judge Patrick Schiltz after he ordered Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons to appear in person on Friday.

McLaughlin said in a statement that Schiltz, who was appointed by President George W. Bush in 2006, is an "activist judge who is clearly more concerned about politics than the safety of the Minnesotans."

"We will not let anything slow us down from removing criminal illegal aliens from our streets," she said.

House Dems call on Trump to fire Noem

House Democratic leaders called on President Donald Trump to fire Homeland Security Secretary Krisi Noem -- warning that they will "commence impeachment proceedings" against her if he doesn't.

"The violence unleashed on the American people by the Department of Homeland Security must end forthwith," the leaders said in a statement posted by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., to X on Tuesday. "Kristi Noem should be fired immediately, or we will commence impeachment proceedings in the House of Representatives. We can do this the easy way or the hard way."
