Johnson suggests Trump's megabill deadline could go past July Fourth
House Speaker Mike Johnson suggested the self-imposed July Fourth deadline to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill Act could slide.
"It's possible," he said. "I don't even accept that as an option right now."
Johnson said the House can't make any final decisions until the bill passes in the Senate and hopes the final product is like what the House passed.

"I'm going to give all of my members plenty of time to digest that we're not -- the House will not be jammed by anything," he said.
The speaker said he'll bring the House back next week to "get this done as soon as it is possible."
"So, I still want to get this done by July Fourth," he said.
