Manhunt underway for 23-year-old wanted in death of Georgia police officer

A manhunt is underway for a 23-year-old man wanted in the death of a Georgia police officer late Tuesday.

Jimmie Steverson, 23, is wanted for the death of Chris Fisher, a Warm Springs Police Department officer, who was killed just before midnight, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Steverson is described as a Black male, 5 feet 6 inches, weighing about 150 lbs. He has with black hair and brown eyes, according to GBI.

He was last seen at 11:57 p.m. on Tuesday, wearing a black t-shirt and black gym shorts, traveling in a 2026 black Chevrolet Silverado, according to GBI.
