Severe weather could impact millions in parts of the U.S. over Labor Day weekend as several states continue recovering from destructive storms over the past week.
More than 57,000 customers remain without power in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
In Michigan, more than 95,000 customers are also without power after Thursday’s severe weather.
The severe weather threat continues on Saturday for millions of Americans in parts of the mid-Atlantic to the mid-South.
A level 2 of 5 "slight risk" for severe weather is up from eastern Kentucky and Tennessee to North Carolina, and includes Charlotte, North Carolina; Virginia Beach, Virginia; Raleigh, North Carolina; and Knoxville, Tennessee.
Damaging winds and flash flooding are the main threats, but some hail is also possible.
On Sunday, a level 2 of 5 "slight risk" for severe weather is in place for parts of Georgia and South Carolina, including Savannah, Columbia, Charleston and Augusta.
While much of the country will enjoy tranquil weather on Sunday, some areas could still see scattered thunderstorms that could bring lightning, heavy rain leading to spotty flooding, and gusty winds.
Flash flood threat
There is also a potential for flash flooding in parts of the Southwest on Sunday.
This includes many national parks in Arizona and Utah on Sunday, including Grand Canyon National Park, Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park, all which recently experienced significant flash flooding impacts from monsoon storms.
While the threat is not as widespread and intense as the previous event last weekend, scattered thunderstorms later in the day could bring downpours and frequent lightning. Flash flooding is possible where the heaviest rain develops.
Any burn scar areas from recent wildfires in Utah and Arizona will be especially vulnerable to any heavy rain that falls on Sunday.
