Judge: No Damages in Rosie Case

Nov. 12 -- The judge in the Rosie O'Donnell case has ruled there will be no damages awarded to either side — calling it an "ill-conceived lawsuit."

O'Donnell and the former publisher of Rosie magazine, Gruner+Jahr USA, had been locked in a suit and countersuit involving hundreds of millions of dollars over the "demise" of the magazine.

The publisher said O'Donnell broke her contract, but the former talk show host had argued she was not given the editorial control over the magazine she was promised.

O'Donnell quit the magazine in September 2002 and the magazine folded two months later. The publishers sued O'Donnell for $100 million, alleging breachof contract for walking away. She countersued for $125 million, saying G+J broke its contract with her by cutting her out of keyeditorial decisions.

State Supreme Court Justice Ira Gammerman is hearing the trialwithout a jury.
