A young mother has died, and an infant is in critical condition after they were allegedly pushed from the balcony of a New York City apartment building on Tuesday, police said.
New York police officers responded to a 911 call in the Bronx at around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday to find a 23-year-old woman and an 8-month-old girl suffering injuries consistent with a fall from an elevated position, according to the New York Police Department.
Upon further investigation, officers determined the two had been allegedly pushed from a balcony, the NYPD said.

Both individuals were taken to Jacobi Hospital. The infant is in critical condition, police said. The 23-year-old woman, identified by police as Nathaly Ramirez, was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to the NYPD.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing, the NYPD said.
