Super Bowl 2015: Meet the Players on the Bench
These back-ups will be bench warmers during the year's biggest game.
— -- Only 11 football players will be on the field from each team at the Super Bowl on Sunday, meaning there will be many other players who will never get to play in the most-watched television sports event of the year.
The Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots have more than 50 players each on their active rosters. But unless some of the star players like Tom Brady's Cold Could Affect the Super Bowl">Tom Brady are plagued by things like a cold or injury, many will be sitting ready on the bench the entire time.
Here are three players that you'll most-likely never see take the field.
1. Jimmy Garoppolo
The Patriots rookie quarterback was chosen by New England in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. The 23-year old played at Eastern Illinois University. While he normally tries to follow the lead of quarterback Tom Brady, this week, he said he is playing the role of the Seahawks' Russell Wilson in practices.
"I am Russell Wilson this week," Garoppolo said, according to Yahoo News today.
2. B.J. Daniels
One of Wilson's understudies is Seahawks quarterback B.J. Daniels, who was picked by the San Francisco 49ers in the seventh round of the 2013 NFL Draft. The 25-year old played college football at the University of South Florida.
3. Tarvaris Jackson
Another Seahawks quarterback, Tarvaris Jackson, has nine seasons under his belt. But the 31-year old veteran, who played for Alabama State, won't see any playing time.
He previously played for the Minnesota Vikings and the Buffalo Bills.
