While the annual affair famously has a no-phone and no-photo policy, the Met Museum shared a few clips of Wonder's and Usher's performances to Instagram on Tuesday.

Wonder was filmed playing the piano and singing "Higher Ground" while Usher performed "OMG" with backup dancers.

Held days before the Costume Institute's corresponding exhibit opening on May 10, this year's Met Gala embraced a "Tailored for You" dress code -- a tribute to menswear and the exhibition's theme, "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style."

As Vogue explained previously, the theme explores how clothing and style have shaped Black identities in the Atlantic diaspora, spotlighting the Black dandy.
