Louis is the youngest child of Prince William and Kate, the Princess of Wales.
Prince Louis, the youngest child of Prince William and Kate, the Princess of Wales, is celebrating his 8th birthday.
The royals marked Louis' birthday Thursday by sharing both a new image and new video of the young prince on social media.
The snapshot shows a smiling Louis posing with his arms crossed, wearing a blue half-zip sweater.
The video also shows Louis surrounded by water, playing in the sand, running on the beach and jumping off a boat into open water.
"Thank you for all the birthday wishes for Prince Louis. 8 is great!" the royals captioned the video.
Louis, who was born April 23, 2018, is the younger brother of Prince George, 12, and Princess Charlotte, 10.
Like his siblings, Louis attends Lambrook School, a prep school for children ages 3-13 near the family's home in Windsor, England.
The Wales family is expected to celebrate Louis' birthday privately.
The family was last seen together publicly on Easter Sunday, when they joined other members of Britain's royal family for a church service at St. George's Chapel.
