Parents dress daughter in Princess Diana looks for 1st year of her life
Baby Dianna's outfits resemble the former Princess of Wales' memorable outfits.
An Ohio couple is going viral for dressing their daughter in outfits inspired by the iconic looks of the late Princess Diana.
David and Macey Wysong dressed their daughter, also named Dianna, in some of the princess's most memorable looks -- from her wedding gown to her black evening gown known as the "revenge dress" to her black sheep sweater -- for each of the first 12 months of her life.
The yearlong tradition culminated on Tuesday, when Dianna turned 1, which the family celebrated with a Diana-themed birthday party.
"I have a matching Fly Virgin Atlantic crewneck that I wore, and then my wife got the Harvard sweatshirt, and then we both got Princess Diana wigs," David Wysong told ABC News, referring to two of Diana's more famous looks. "And then our two boys dressed as the royal guard, which was cute."
David Wysong said it was his wife's idea to dress Dianna -- named for her grandmothers, Diane and Anna -- up as Diana, who died in a 1997 car crash in Paris at the age of 36.
Diana, the mother of Princes William and Harry, was well-known for her fashionable style during her lifetime. Since her death, many of her clothes have been sold at auctions and featured in exhibits.
David Wysong said he and his wife have cherished getting creative and having fun with their daughter's photoshoots over the past year.
He said the time spent together is especially meaningful because the couple experienced fertility struggles before welcoming their three kids. David Wysong said they also did monthly themed photos with their two sons too.
"I think that's a big reason why we decided to have fun with all these photos is just because we know what it was like to, you know, go through those struggles and not know if we would ever have kids of our own," he said. "So now that we do, and we've been very blessed with three beautiful children, we just want to have fun and be able to look back on [these memories]."
Over the past year, the Wysong have also shared each of Dianna's 12 looks on Instagram, much to the delight of fans and followers.
"These outfits are all serves. 🙌❤️" wrote one commenter.
"This is precious! I am sure Princess Diana would love this! 🥰," another added.
