Pakistan announces US-Iran talks 'in coming days'
Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar made the announcement on Sunday.
President Donald Trump announced "major combat operations" against Iran on Feb. 28, with massive joint U.S.-Israeli strikes attack targeting military and government sites, officials said.
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was among those killed in Tehran on the first day of strikes, with his son Mojtaba Khamenei later chosen to succeed him. Iran has responded with missile and drone attacks targeting Israel, regional U.S. bases and multiple Gulf nations. Iran is also attempting to block some shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
Israel is also intensifying its long-running strike campaign against the Iran-backed Hezbollah militia in Lebanon and expanding its ground operations in the south of the country.

IDF conducts 'extensive strikes' in Isfahan
The Israel Defense Forces said Tuesday morning that it "completed a wave of extensive strikes targeting production sites" in several areas of Iran, including in the central city of Isfahan.
IDF strikes another bridge in south Lebanon
The Israel Defense Forces on Tuesday said it attacked another bridge over the Litani River in southern Lebanon, as it expands its ground operation against the Iranian-backed Hezbollah militia there.
The bridge, the IDF alleged, was used by Hezbollah forces moving southwards to attack Israeli forces operating inside Lebanon.
Iranian attacks continue across the Gulf
Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Kuwait reported fresh Iranian attacks overnight into Tuesday morning.
The Saudi Defense Ministry said in a series of posts to X that its forces intercepted at least 27 Iranian drones.
The Kuwait Armed Forces said in a post to X that its air defense systems were "engaged in intercepting hostile missiles and drones that breached the country's airspace" on Tuesday morning.
Bahrain's Interior Ministry, meanwhile, said Tuesday that emergency responders "extinguished a fire in a facility of a company as a result of the Iranian aggression."
IDF says it hit 3,000 Iranian targets since start of campaign
The Israel Defense Forces said in a post to X on Tuesday that it had struck more than 3,000 Iranian targets since the start of the joint U.S.-Israeli operation on Feb. 28.
