Texas 2026 live midterm election results
A Democrat has not won a statewide Texas election in more than 30 years.
During the midterm elections on Tuesday, all eyes are on Texas' critical Senate election, where Democratic state Rep. James Talarico faces off against with Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton.
Paxton has maintained President Donald Trump's support despite multiple controversies.
Despite Republican Gov. Greg Abbott winning his past three elections by double digits, he now faces a tough reelection against Democratic state Rep. Gina Hinojosa.
Democrats are hopeful to win their first statewide Texas election since 1994.
