Ben Thornbrue had 17 points as Bradley opened its season Monday with an 85-41 win over Monmouth (IL).

Thornbrue shot 7 for 9 from the field, including 2 for 4 from 3-point range, and went 1 for 3 from the line for the Braves. Josh Ibukunoluwa scored 14 points while going 5 for 7 from the field, including 3 for 4 from 3-point range, and added seven rebounds. Xander Alarie shot 5 for 7 from the field and 2 for 4 from the free-throw line to finish with 13 points, while adding six rebounds.

Cameron Thomas finished with 11 points for the Fighting Scots. Monmouth (IL) also got eight points from Jase Whiteman. LJ Ashby finished with six points, six rebounds, two steals and three blocks.
