Lehigh beats Penn 20-7 for 5th consecutive win against an Ivy League opponent

PHILADELPHIA -- Derek Morgan threw for a touchdown and ran for another to guide Lehigh to a 20-7 victory over Pennsylvania on Saturday.

Lehigh (5-0), ranked No. 6 in the Stats Perform poll, has won five consecutive games against Ivy League opponents and six of the last seven.

Morgan broke several tackles on his 11-yard scoring run that gave Lehigh a 10-0 lead in the third quarter following a four-play, 28-yard drive. He added a 20-yard scoring pass to Jamaire Harden — his first career touchdown — with 2:08 remaining in the frame for a 17-0 lead.

Connor Poole made field goals from 48 and 29 yards.

Luke Yoder, who entered ranked second nationally in rushing yards and first with 12 touchdowns, was held out of the end zone on 19 carries for 74 yards for Lehigh. The Mountain Hawks entered leading the FCS in rushing offense at 291.8 yards per game and finished with 168 yards on 47 attempts.

Freshman Miles Teodecki was 18 of 37 for 133 yards with two interceptions for Penn (1-1), which opened its 150th season of football with a 20-7 win at Bucknell last week. Tommy Lafayette had 41 yards rushing and a touchdown that came with 2:14 left in the fourth quarter.

The two teams combined for 399 yards and 26 first downs.

Lehigh was coming off a 24-20 victory over Dartmouth last week, highlighted by DJ Brown's one-handed interception at the Mountain Hawks' 5-yard line with 13 seconds remaining to secure the victory.
