2 Colorado troopers shot during a traffic stop, suspect arrested after manhunt
The shooting led to shelter-in-place orders in a residential neighborhood.
Two Colorado State Patrol troopers were shot Tuesday morning during a traffic stop in Teller County, temporarily causing shelter-in-place orders in a residential neighborhood as officers combed the area for the suspect.
That alleged shooter was caught later in the morning, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation
The unidentified troopers were conducting the stop on Highway 24 at 7:15 a.m. just west of Woodland Park when they were shot, the Colorado State Patrol said.
One of the troopers has serious injuries while the other has minor wounds, according to State Patrol.
The unidentified suspect was described as a white man with brown or blonde shoulder-length hair and was seen "driving a blue Subaru Impreza with no front plate/obscured license plates," the Colorado Bureau of Investigation said in a Facebook post.
"Use caution and do not approach if seen. Suspect is armed and dangerous," CBI said in the post.
The Teller County Sheriff's Office released additional images of the suspect and car.
Around 10 a.m. CBI said they located the suspect and his vehicle.
"The suspect is in custody," CBI said in a statement.
