The 2026 Rockefeller Center Christmas tree has been selected

The search for this year's iconic Christmas tree is over.

NEW YORK -- The search for this year's iconic New York City Christmas tree is over.

Rockefeller Center announced Monday that its 2026 Christmas tree will be a Norway spruce from West Edmeston, New York.

The tree is scheduled to be cut down on Nov. 5 and transported to Manhattan on Nov. 7, where it will be decorated with more than 50,000 energy-efficient LED lights and topped with the signature Swarovski star.

The annual tree-lighting ceremony will take place on Dec. 2.

Visitors will be able to see the tree on display through Jan. 9, 2027.

After the holiday season ends, the tree will be milled into lumber and donated to Habitat for Humanity.
