4 arrested in February shooting of San Francisco 49ers player
Keion White is a defensive lineman for San Francisco.
Four suspects have been arrested in California and Georgia in connection with the shooting of San Francisco 49ers player Keion White.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, Marquis Davis, Antoine Washington, Curtis Green and Gregory Walker were each arrested last week in connection with a February nightclub shooting of a 49ers player, "where officers located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the ankle."
The Atlanta Police Department arrested Davis on Oct. 7, according to a release from the SFPD. The release also noted that officers recovered an illegal firearm, MDMA, methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl during the arrest.
That same day, officers arrested Washington in Stockton, California. According to the release, officers recovered a loaded firearm, oxycodone pills and around $6,600.
Green was also taken into custody on the same day in Irvine, California, the SFPD release said, adding that two days later, Walker was arrested in Southern California.
The release did not specifically name the 49ers player, but District Attorney Brooke Jenkins, who spoke with San Francisco Police Chief Derrick Lew at a press conference on the arrests, named White as the victim.
After Super Bowl LX, which was held in Santa Clara, California, in February, "White was shot in the ankle while he was hosting a private party in the downstairs VIP area of the Dahlia Club," according to a release from the San Francisco DA, citing court documents.
"Mr. Walker, and a second man who is pending charges, are alleged to have fired their guns, resulting in the injury to Mr. White. Mr. Green was also armed and is alleged to have brandished his own firearm," the DA's release continued.
At the press conference, Jenkins said she would only announce charges for Green and Walker, since only those suspects have been booked into the San Francisco County Jail.
Walker was charged with assault with a semi-automatic firearm, "with allegations that he personally discharged a firearm" and "personally inflicted great bodily injury," according to the release from the San Francisco DA. He was also charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a concealed firearm by a felon and possession of loaded firearm by a felon.
Green was charged with brandishing a firearm, a misdemeanor, carrying a concealed firearm and carrying a loaded firearm in public, also misdemeanors.
"The San Francisco Police Department and District Attorney's Office are working with other jurisdictions to arrange for Davis and Washington to be brought to San Francisco," the release said.
According to a release from the Atlanta Police Department, Davis was charged with "multiple counts of trafficking of controlled substances, multiple gang-related offenses, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony" and was transported to Fulton County Jail in Georgia.
In a statement to ABC News, an attorney for Davis said, "Marquis Davis is presumed innocent of all charges. The allegations against him remain unproven, and he is entitled to the full protections of the United States Constitution."
The statement continued, "Mr. Davis will be vigorously defended in court, and we will not comment on the evidence, the investigation, or the charges while the matter is pending."
ABC News has not yet identified attorneys for the other three suspects.
Drafted by the New England Patriots in 2023, White is in his fourth season in the NFL and second with the San Francisco 49ers.
