Fashion designers identified as victims of fatal shooting near UC Berkeley, friends say
A couple found shot dead near the campus on Friday have been identified.
OAKLAND, Calif. -- A couple found dead from an apparent shooting in Oakland, California, near the University of California, Berkeley campus on Friday have been identified.
Friends and colleagues identified the couple as Bryan Walker, 61, and Michelle Min, 63.
Walker and Min were the creators behind the women's fashion brand Bryn Walker.
On Sunday, neighbors of the couple who were shot and killed in their Panoramic Hill home held a community gathering to support one another.
Many brought flowers, cards and mementos and placed them in a makeshift memorial near the home.
Their bodies were found Friday morning after a double shooting.
The news has shocked many in the community.
"We wanted to be together. And we're from different parts of the hill. And we may not necessarily know Bryan and Michelle, but we felt it. We universally have talked to each other about how deeply unsettling it was," said neighbor Janice Thomas.
Bryn Walker is based in Berkeley.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, investigators have not ruled out the shooting as a possible murder-suicide.
