The Senate’s final version of President Trump’s massive policy and tax bill would add $3.4 trillion to the deficit over the next decade, according to an updated estimate released by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office.

The new estimate considers the last-minute Senate amendments adopted by the upper chamber on Tuesday.

According to the analysis, the amendments adopted in the Senate would themselves increase the deficits by about $110 billion, increase outlays by about $90 billion and decrease revenues by about $20 billion.

The House is now debating the “rule” to advance the president's domestic policy bill to the floor for a vote.

The floor debate, which is being led by the House Rules Committee, is expected to occur for an hour. The lower chamber must first pass a rule, which is a procedural motion to advance legislation, to consider final passage of the bill. It is unclear if that will even pass.

During the previous procedural vote, eight Republicans and one Democrat were absent. If this sticks, Republicans could have a big problem just related to attendance, given Speaker Mike Johnson’s razor thin majority.

President Trump put out more details of the negotiations with Vietnam in social media post on Wednesday.

It came after the president slapped a 46% tariff rate on the Southeast Asian country when he announced his global tariffs in April.

In his Truth Social post, the president announced a 20% tariff rate on "on any and all goods sent into our Territory" by Vietnam and a 40% tariff rate on "Transshipping" from Vietnam.

The higher tariff rate is likely an effort by the White House to disincentivize the movement of goods from China to Vietnam for a lower tariff rate, which is called transshipping.

In return, Trump said that Vietnam agreed to give the U.S. "TOTAL ACCESS to their Markets for Trade."

"In other words, they will “OPEN THEIR MARKET TO THE UNITED STATES,” meaning that, we will be able to sell our product into Vietnam at ZERO Tariff," he said in the post.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and other Democratic leaders gathered on the Capitol steps to declare their caucus will vote no on the Republican bill to fund much of President Trump's agenda.

"Every single House Democrat will vote hell no against this one big ugly bill," Jeffries said as he railed against the bill's projected impact on Medicaid, SNAP and more.

"And all we need are four House Republicans to join us in defense of their constituents, who will suffer mightily from this bill," the New York lawmaker added.

If all members are voting and present, House Speaker Mike Johnson can only afford to lose three Republican votes.
