Philadelphia closes some schools as heat hits Northeast: Forecast

In Philadelphia, 52 schools are closed on Friday due to the heat

Summer-like weather is coming early for the Northeast, with temperatures forecast to be 10 to 20 degrees above average along the Interstate 95 corridor on Friday and Saturday.

On Friday, the temperature is forecast to hit 85 degrees in Boston, 89 degrees in New York City, 93 in Washington, D.C., and 96 in Raleigh, North Carolina.

In Philadelphia, 52 schools are closed Friday due to the heat, school district officials said.

Temperatures will soar even higher Saturday, reaching 91 in Boston, 91 in New York, 94 in D.C. and 96 in Raleigh.

Despite the high temperatures, humidity is low, which will make spending time outside much more enjoyable.
