'Wolverine-style claws' discovered in carry-on bag at Seattle airport security: TSA

The passenger voluntarily abandoned the claws at checkpoint.

Two Transportation Security Administration officers discovered a dangerous bladed item that came straight out of an X-Men comic inside a carry-on bag during a security check at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

TSA officer Douglas Linn found the bladed claw, that the agency described as "a mix between Wolverine-style claws and Freddy Krueger blades", while the unidentified passenger's carry-on was going through the X-ray machine in August.

"I saw three blades and distinct claw-like features," Linn said in a statement released this week. "I was amazed, and even more so when it came out of the bag. I have never seen anything like this during my two years at TSA."

TSA Officer Dennis Oishi searched the bag and safely removed the bladed claws, according to the agency.

Oishi asked the passenger if there was anything sharp in his bag and the passenger allegedly said no at first but then "immediately remembered the items after Oishi removed them from the bag," according to the TSA.

The passenger voluntarily abandoned the claws at the checkpoint, the TSA said.
