The 2025 Golden Globes kicked off awards season Sunday night as the best in film and television were honored.
Brady Corbet's "The Brutalist" and Jacques Audiard's "Emilia Pérez" were big winners of the night on the film side, winning best motion picture (drama) and best motion picture (musical or comedy), respectively. "Wicked" took home the award for cinematic and box office achievement.

Winners of Timothée Chalamet, Glen Powell look-alike contests walk red carpet
The winners of last year's Timothée Chalamet and Glen Powell look-alike contests stepped out on the Golden Globes red carpet Sunday night.
Miles Mitchell, who won the fan-organized Chalamet look-alike contest in New York City, and Max Braunstein, who won the Powell look-alike contest in Texas, were all smiles as they posed for photos holding signs that read, "I won a lookalike contest and now I'm at the Golden Globes."

Viola Davis honored with Cecil B. DeMille Award
Viola Davis was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award at a gala dinner Friday night at the Beverly Hilton.
The Cecil B. DeMille Award, which was first created in 1952, honors iconic Hollywood talents "for outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment," according to the Golden Globes website.

"I feel like someone just set me on fire," Davis said in her acceptance speech.
Davis went on to detail challenges she overcame early in life, saying her younger self wouldn't believe the family, friends and career she counts as blessings today.
"Little Viola is squealing," the actress said. "She's standing behind me now and she's pulling on my dress."
Davis, who won a Golden Globe Award in 2017 for her role in "Fences," has also been nominated for her roles in "Doubt," "The Help," "How to Get Away with Murder," "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom" and "The Woman King."
