Kate Middleton steps out with shamrocks for St. Patrick's Day parade
The Princess of Wales is the honorary colonel of the Irish Guards.
Kate, the Princess of Wales, stepped out at a St. Patrick's Day parade Tuesday, continuing a tradition she rejoined last year following her cancer diagnosis and treatment.
The princess met with the Irish Guards -- of which she has been the honorary colonel since 2023 -- at the event, which was held at Mons Barracks in Aldershot, in South East England.
Kate rewore an emerald green coat and matching hat for the occasion, which she donned at Christmas back in 2024, accessorizing with a black belt, gloves and black heeled boots. On her lapel, she added a spray of shamrocks, a traditional Irish emblem.
At the event, Kate greeted the soldiers, as well as Turlough Mór, an Irish wolfhound who goes by the kennel name Séamus and serves as the mascot of the regiment at the parade.
The princess presented each of them with sprigs of shamrock and gave Séamus a few friendly scratches on the head.
Kate rejoined the annual St. Patrick's Day parade last year. In a social media post at the time, she wrote that she was "proud" to serve as the honorary colonel of the Irish Guards, which was formed by Queen Victoria in 1900.
The royal had missed the event the year prior, having announced her cancer diagnosis in March 2024.
Kate has never publicly disclosed the type or stage of cancer with which she was diagnosed, only stating that she underwent "a course of preventative chemotherapy" at the advice of her medical team.
The princess resumed her royal duties in 2025, after announcing in January that year that she was in remission from cancer.
Since that time, Kate has been busy attending various events and official royal outings.
Last week, she visited a London beer hall with her husband Prince William, where she opened up about cutting back on alcohol since receiving her cancer diagnosis.
