Meghan Markle, Prince Harry attend David Foster Foundation gala in Canada

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex traveled to Canada to attend an event celebrating 40 years of fundraising for music producer David Foster’s foundation.

The festivities kicked off with a gala on Friday, followed by a free concert at Victoria’s Inner Harbour on Saturday.

Foster’s wife, Katharine McPhee, was also among those attending Friday’s event, along with Adam Levine and Josh Groban.

The David Foster Foundation also documented the evening on social media, sharing photos of Harry and Meghan attending the gala on its Instagram Stories.

The David Foster Foundation provides financial support to Canadian families with children undergoing life-saving organ transplants, helping cover non-medical expenses while also raising awareness about organ donation in Canada and the United States, according to its website.

Harry and Meghan have longstanding ties to Foster and his family.

Meghan and Katharine McPhee have known each other since childhood.

In 2019, Foster helped arrange for the couple to stay at a mansion on Vancouver Island owned by one of his friends. The stay came shortly before they announced plans in January 2020 to step back as senior working members of the royal family.

The couple’s latest trip comes just days after Meghan celebrated her 45th birthday on Aug. 4.

Marking the occasion on Instagram, the Duchess of Sussex shared a playful photo of herself jumping into a swimming pool while holding a bunch of balloons.

"Thank you for the birthday love! 🎈," she captioned the post.
