Ryan Murphy says he's written a script for 'Glee' reboot
A "Glee" reboot is officially in the works.
While attending FX's "Celebration of American Horror Story" in New York City on Wednesday, producer Ryan Murphy gave an update on a revival of the musical series, saying a script has been written.
“Yeah, we just finished writing the ‘Glee’ reboot today,” he told Good Morning America.
"Glee" aired on Fox for six seasons, from 2009 to 2015. It followed a high school glee club and starred Lea Michele, the late Cory Monteith, the late Naya Rivera, Amber Riley, Chris Colfer, Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowitz, Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch and more.
When it comes to bringing some of the original cast back together, Murphy told "GMA," “I’ve been quietly having conversations with people on that show … about ‘what do you think? Should we?’”
“Maybe I shouldn’t, I don’t know. It’s fun just to try," he added.
Former Glee cast member Harry Shum Jr. is currently competing on "Dancing with the Stars," and Murphy says he’s rooting for him.
Murphy said, “I think he’s so phenomenally talented and I’m sure he’s gonna win, right? How could he not!"
"Glee" won six Primetime Emmys and several Golden Globes. It also won the GLAAD Media Award for outstanding comedy series in 2010 and 2011.
Murphy's show "American Horror Story" debuted its 13th season on Thursday.
Disney is the parent company of FX, "Good Morning America" and ABC.
