9 people killed in mass shooting at Erie, Pennsylvania, home: Police
The suspect died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
Police in Erie, Pennsylvania, said they're investigating a mass shooting where nine people were killed at a home Friday night.
The unidentified shooter died from a self-inflicted wound and there was no threat to the community, Erie Police Chief Rick Lorah told reporters at a news conference later in the evening.
The police didn't immediately disclose if the shooter was counted among the nine victims.

Officers responded to the house at 7th and Perry Streets around 4:50 p.m. after receiving a ShotSpotter alert about shots fired. A SWAT team was called in and entered the house after getting a warrant, according to the police.
They found the victims dead inside, Lorah told reporters.
"It’s a horrific scene," Lorah said. "There was a large loss of life inside that residence and outside that residence."
Lorah added that the shooting was "most difficult and heartbreaking" in his nearly three-decade career.
Police later clarified that the deaths took place before the officers arrived and there was not additional shots fired between the time officers arrived and the time they entered the home.
Lorah said the police didn't have any additional information or motive, and stressed that the investigation is continuing.

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro released a statement Saturday morning saying he spoke with Erie Mayor Daria Devlin and offered his support.
“My heart breaks for this family. Lori and I are praying for their loved ones and the entire Erie community," he said in a statement.
Devlin and the police were scheduled to provide updates at a news conference Saturday afternoon.
