Legendary music producer Clive Davis is credited with signing some of the biggest names in music. Davis became the head of Columbia Records in 1967 before founding Artista Records in 1974. Throughout his career, many of the artists under his tutelage would become major A-list acts. Some of those signed include Whitney Houston, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, Barry Manilow, Alicia Keys and Notorious B.I.G., among others. As a producer, Davis won four Grammy Awards and in 2011 the theater at the Grammy Museum was renamed in his honor.
